Together we enhance lives and communities through service and fellowship founded on biblical principles.
Join! Learn! Take initiative! Impact your world.
Our marketing plan includes adding value to our membership, improving membership experience (your take away from participation), development of service and fellowship opportunities, enrichment opportunities (schools and Grand Chapter education).
We are currently seeking members with web development and above average computer skills to help our Web Master Brother Larry and the team as we re-design and further develop our web site. The elected line officers are very excited that we have officially launched a multiple year strategic plan.
Raffle tickets will be sold until Saturday morning at Grand Chapter. The tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20.
One ticket gives the buyer four (4) chances to win one of the prizes.
an original painting by Robert Blair, a NM artist who has several pieces of his work sold globally
a full-size doll house (not just for kids)
a stag handled derringer donated and being carried by our WGP (for that birds eye view)
a painting of New Mexico’s famous landmark “Shiprock” located in the Four Corners area, painted especially for Kindness is Contagious by our own PGM Sister Sabra Humphrey
Paws & Stripes
State Chairman Grand Marshal David Bachman
This project has a couple of components this year. We are continuing the 50/50 raffle at the OV’s that was done by PGP Bob Sonnamaker last year. We graciously request if you are a 50/50 winner to enjoy your portions of your winnings since we will also be raising money through our “Poker Run” that will take place on June 17, 2017 from 8am to 2pm at the Ballut Abyad Shrine in Albuquerque. We are asking each chapter to donate door/raffle prizes. The run will consist of 2, 3 & 4 wheel vehicles. Entry fees are $20.00 per hand. Start time will be 8:30am. The committee members will help us get our advertising out around the state. An added bonus for the 50/50 tickets is that after the winner is drawn, all tickets (including the winning tickets) will go into a bucket, and a drawing will be done at Grand Chapter for the “Service Dog Mascot, Pepper”.
Brother Sarge Biggs
This has been a very successful program for the past 9 years and is a wonderful way for the Grand Chapter of NM to show our overseas ground troops just how much we appreciate what they do for us to be safe here on our own soil. Brother Sarge Biggs and the rest of his team in the Alamogordo area have been diligent in their efforts. Brother Sarge once again accepted this monumental “kindness” appointment this year.
Please gather the following items: chap stick, toothbrushes, small toothpaste, small baby or foot powder, travel shampoo and conditioners (remember to gather them from your hotel rooms) small lotions (un-scented if possible), Band-Aids, small sunscreen, combs, playing cards, pocket games, puzzle books (paper back size), thin paperback books, soaps, hard candy & gum, pre-sweetened individual packets, nail clippers, wet wipes (90 count Wal-Mart brand), gallon sized bags, and any monetary donations (make checks payable to Operation Soldier Smiles Inc).
Bring any items gathered to the OV’s and we’ll see that they get to Brother Sarge.
Sister Pearl Dunigan
Our Clipping Tower lovingly and willingly will continue this very valuable project for our overseas families. Be sure to clip on the dotted line, major brand items, as well as major restaurant coupons. They will take them up to 6 months expired. A soldier’s pay doesn’t go far, and this project makes a HUGE difference. Sister Pearl’s mailing address is 68A Vista del Rio, Belen, NM 87002. Alternatively, send them along with a member you know will be traveling through Belen and can get them to Sister Pearl.
Tally cards and tokens with kindness phrases began being distributed during the “Power-up NM” schools. More and more tokens will be released as we travel the state for our OV’s. This project is for Eastern Star Members only. The tokens are to remain in a constant state of circulation as members spot other members doing kind acts. When you give someone a token you initial their card. When your individual cards are full (because of your kindness being spotted), please give them to your Secretary. Secretaries, as you gather groups of cards, please forward them to our official “Tally Tower”, Sister Debbie Morley (Los Alamos 63), 119 La Senda Road, Los Alamos, NM 87547.
We will report the number of kindnesses at Grand Chapter that were done throughout this Kindness year, and throughout the state.
Sister Elisabeth Stowe (San Marcial #34) is our Mentoring Tower. She has developed a very comprehensive plan to help us mentor and hopefully retain new members. The program is outlined and available on line. Worthy Matrons please appoint one of your chapter members to serve in the capacity as our “chapter mentor”. Sister Elisabeth is available to assist. She can be reached by phone: 505-280-9385 (please leave a message) or by e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Sister Tenna Bradshaw, Las Cruces 20, is our State News Tower. What news from your chapter would you like to share with the sister chapters throughout our state?
Please submit any upcoming events, news and photos of members working or interacting in the community as well as fellowship gatherings to Sister Tenna at email@example.com.
Remember that we have added a new proficiency type – Office Proficiency. This is to be given to the DI or the WP just as you would the Secret Work Proficiency. You can do multiple offices, or just the one that you currently hold. Remember you will need to show and give all ritual work pertaining to any office proficiency given. There are office and multiple office proficiency cards with the DI’s.
Unfortunately, we ran into several snags with this fundraiser that was launched through Schwan’s. There will be an additional project that will take place due to the low rate of return dollars we will be receiving.
